Your Job

The job holder is responsible for all activities of the business unit Systems & Service with150 employees on a national and European level, particularly in the areas of result and business development. In the process, the GM serves at the level of the management team as motivator, direction setter, sparring partner and coach. In particular, the tasks include:

  • Build and grow the local organization as part of the group without losing its identity.
  • Network effectively with local clients and develop strong professional relationships.
  • Foster safety, engagement and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and mentor the teams, especially regarding the values and vision (people centric, leading by example).
  • Responsible for profit & loss, annual budget and investments.
  • Strong commercial & business development focus
  • Market and competitor's analysis.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to define how best to roll out the strategy for Systems & Service growth.
  • Synthesize and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on progress and development.
  • Responsible for QHSE in Germany.
  • Manage every aspect of our Systems & Service Operations in Central Europe including any new acquired entity.
  • Support operations in Germany of the Renewable Gas and Energy from Waste Plant businesses. 
  • Lead the ongoing European integration process.
  • Negotiate with vendors and service providers after alignment with central SCM team.
  • Collaborate with local businesses to acquire all necessary resources and services, in line with central purchasing.
  • Develop and manage resources, drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure solid customer feedback to other functions.

 Your Profile

  • Master’s degree in engineering, business or related fields
  • 10 years’ or more experience in management in a SME matrix setting with a strong focus on Service Business, Operations and an exposure to Business Development
  • Sound experience in the Energy from Waste sector, Renewable Energy, Automation in energy sector or other related fields
  • Proven track record in leading Service Business, Maintenance Operations and Service Sales
  • Prior experience with post M&A integration highly advantageous
  • Experience with small size EPC Projects (5-20 million)
  • Prior experience to integrate new business in a group
  • Relevant German management experience including legislation, labor, unions etc.
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and communicate across all levels of the organization including stakeholders (customers, technicians, potentially investors and banks)
  • Fluent in German & English compulsory, French nice to have
  • Enjoyment of work in an international environment and the readiness for regular travel
