Our client is a fast growing, hardware and software world class solutions provider for the Mass Transit , with a broad network of sales and aftermarket service partners, to ensure worldwide support across the globe. With more than 90 years of experience and business in nearly 90 countries, our client offers products and solutions that are specially tailored to public transport. Now we are looking for a Finance Director, who will lead the financial organization of the global rail division, based in Bavaria. The finance director will be reporting directly to the Global Rail Managing Director.

Key Tasks

  • Leading the financial organization of the Rail Division in Germany, Denmark and Canada
  • Accountability for finance and operations across €25+ revenue with scope significant for growth
  • Developing and enforcing an efficient global financial strategy, and structures and processes
  • Ensuring that financial systems are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth
  • Ensuring that corporate budgeting, reporting, and year-end processes are carried out and reviewed
  • Forming a close working relationship with the Global Rail Managing Director
  • Contributing fully to the development of the division growth strategy across all areas of the business
  • Challenging all business functions ensuring clear assumptions, sound decision-making, financial analysis and guidance on all activities throughout planning, target setting and monitoring
  • Taking ultimate responsibility for the company cash management policies
  • Establishing a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including customers and advisors
  • Lead the finance aspects of the implementation of ERP system for the Rail division

 

Experience & Skills

  • Degree-level qualification, probably in finance, ideally MBA, or in the field of Business Economics/Industrial Engineering and Management or equivalent background
  • Several years of well-founded professional experience as Financial Controller or Financial Director with proven areas of responsibility
  • Working experiences in the area of long cycle project 
  • Strong reporting and budgeting skills within international groups with IFRS or US-GAAP background
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
  • Strong IT skills, in particular regarding ERP-systems, reporting tools, and MS Office
  • Ability to work under pressure and to handle critical decision-making
  • High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance
  • International team player with experience of managing teams remotely
  • Fluent both orally and in writing in German and English, notion of French appreciated
  • Energetic, highly motivated, with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Passion for excellence and innovation in pursuit of business success
  • Autonomous and structured working style with above average engagement
  • Ready to travel 50% of its time in Europe, USA and Canada
